Covetous Afflictions
Saturday, August 15th, 2009As many of the locals would be aware, Brisneylanders don’t have many options when it comes to retail stores and steampunk. We do have a few well loved crafters like Feybles who is now stocking her lovely wares in Thread ‘n Bone but clothes are an issue. Sure we can make them and many of us do, but for some the thought of sewing a frock coat or bustle skirt sends them into paroxysms of terror.
But something special has opened up in Fortitude Valley and that special something is Voodoo Lulu. Without a doubt, VL is the largest alternative clothing store in Brisbane and glad we are of it. While the shopfront has only recently opened, the sheer amount of stock they have in is massive. As well as selling their own designs of corsetry, skirts, one off pieces and a whole slew of other fantabulousness VL has just received a shipment of Tripp NYC stock and other brands for the men folk and in the not too distant furture will have a wide range of footwear gracing their shelves.
If that wasn’t all there will soon be an online shopping facility available for those not able to get into the store.
Where you can find them:

Just a few doors down from the train station exit onto Brunswick Street (Turn Left ;D)
It is well worth the effort of getting in there. The staff are lovely, the clothes and accesories are beautiful and the prices honestly have to be seen to be believed.
