Monday, February 1st, 2010

You know what makes us squee with delight here at PB HQ?

Feybles.Nel

Yes we rabbit on about her amazing and ecclectic accessories all the time, but why wouldn’t we? She’s jolly well fabulous.

The lovely lady is now doing WORKSHOPS! That’s right leetle cogs and gears, Nel  will offer her formidable crafting skills in order to help you customise whatever it is you should bring to the workshop so you can realise your customisation visions.

Information from the Facebook event page (located here):

The first of our new FN Workshops! This one is for all and any who would like the chance to decorate, finish off and personalise their HAT, GOGGLES, GLOVES, WAISTCOAT or CUFF/ARMBAND for February’s Prometheus Bound “Egyptophile” event.

Our workshop offers materials, decorations, ingredients, tools, drinks & snacks, and help to add to an exisiting, (or freshly-sourced), piece of kit for your next Steamy Adventure!

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 people, and cost for the workshop is NOW $40 per person. This includes all your materials (except basic item)and refreshments.

We require a booking fee of $10 to reserve your spot, by the 3rd of Feb please.
Payment is available via PayPal, Direct Deposit or Cash… Feel free to email feybles.nel (at) gmail. com for more info.

{ A range of Hats and things are available in-store, so if you don’t already have a piece to work on, but would like to, then purchasing on the night is possible. }

Looking forward to seeing you there! :)

Covetous Afflictions — Thread n’ Bone

If you’ve not heard of Thread n’ Bone yet, and I say this with all love and sincerity, you’ve been living under a spaciously appointed rock.

As well as stocking her own line (which includes her beautiful couture corsetry), gloriously talented local designer Cyan Reign sources unique designers to offer instore and both herself and those she stocks are far from run of the mill.

From Rock Chic to Steampunk everything in Thread n’ Bone is edgy, bespoke and cool.

Of particular interest to the Brisbane steampunk community should be our beloved Feybles.Nel, Depths of the Never Never, Cynical Silver and How Meow.  Some examples below.

Covetous Afflictions

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

As many of the locals would be aware, Brisneylanders don’t have many options when it comes to retail stores and steampunk. We do have a few well loved crafters like Feybles who is now stocking her lovely wares in Thread ‘n Bone but clothes are an issue. Sure we can make them and many of us do, but for some the thought of sewing a frock coat or bustle skirt sends them into paroxysms of terror.

But something special has opened up in Fortitude Valley and that special something is Voodoo Lulu. Without a doubt, VL is the largest alternative clothing store in Brisbane and glad we are of it. While the shopfront has only recently opened, the sheer amount of stock they have in is massive. As well as selling their own designs of corsetry, skirts, one off pieces and a whole slew of other fantabulousness VL has just received a shipment of Tripp NYC stock and other brands for the men folk and in the not too distant furture will have a wide range of footwear gracing their shelves.

If that wasn’t all there will soon be an online shopping facility available for those not able to get into the store.

Where you can find them:

Just a few doors down from the train station exit onto Brunswick Street (Turn Left ;D)

It is well worth the effort of getting in there. The staff are lovely, the clothes and accesories are beautiful  and the prices honestly have to be seen to be believed.
