Episode IV: A Vision of Sex, Brass and Cogs

PB Episode 4 was a difficult birth. But difficult births oft produce the sweeter reward.

It was a milestone of sorts for us. Fourth Club, first interstate act, first interstate attendees, first appearance of Sugar Pixie instigated karaoke and first attempt at running a club while both the organisers were attending full time uni.

All in all, with trials and tribulations aside, it was a success.

And a major part of that success is due to each and every one of you that sashayed over our threshold. Everyone that pimped the club, everyone that hauled friends in who had not yet attended, everyone that printed off flyers and distributed them in various places, linked our event, talked about PB to people and generated the mythical buzz which we wish we could be a fly on the wall to see. All of you did this and all of you make PB what it is.

Thank you to Matt and Lawrie from Studio-X for venturing forth from Adelaide and completely blowing people away. I daresay there were fans made that night and it is our hope that you both go far with the masses of talent that you possess. And we would love to have you back in Brisbane.

Thank you to the PB Crew – Adi, Metzy, Brendan, Jon, cAt, Charlie, Josh, Prenna and Chris. And by proxy our PR Sugar Pixies. We have no words to describe the utter win you are made of.

Thank you to the Hellfire Crew for showing that cyberpunk/fetish can indeed mingle freely with the steampunkers. We enjoyed the crossover and hope you and your patrons did as well.

To Metzy for trekking from Sydney for the night, beng our webmistress and designer of awesome and just being awesome in general. The awesome is barely contained. Barely.

To Charlie. Our complaints department. In conjunction with the security you keep the Brisbane Steamers safe and happy. Much love not only for the work you do but for you as well.

To Declan for your humour in the face of adversity, for your talent and just being you.

Joolie and Bam for giving us perspective when we’d lost it.

And finally to Gordon and the team from Club 320. There are not enough words in the English language to express how much love we have for yourselves and your beautiful venue.

Part Deux

Another one in the bag. We were again humbled by the throngs of beautifully bedecked people to our little club.

PB would like to thank:

~ Each and every one of you that attended. The nights we put on wouldn’t happen if it weren’t for you.
~ Campbell – Not only did you have another splendid night at the Wolves Hoard table but doubled up again as a shining star of a roadie. We are agog at your awesomeness.
~ Liam – We don’t know how you do it and we thank you from the bottom of out little hearts, you never have to pay for booze again.
~ Mythology (Toby, Luke, Twitch, Sky & James) – For putting on a damned fine show despite the crap. Thank you for gracing our stage and for your help, patience and humour.
~ Rex – The best (and perkiest) door bitch the southern hemisphere has ever seen. We will put up a sign next time reminding people that your cleavage is not a slot machine :D
~ .Nel. – Too talented and gorgeous for words. We luffs you.
~ Alpha, Tink, Insania, Freddy & Josh our wonderful DJs – Again no point in doing these things without you.
~ Robyn from Always Wicked Art – for making the night just that extra little bit special with your bodypaint designs.
~ Julie & Andrew – for tea, chats and kicks in the arse.
~ Lauren, Brendan & Declan – Representatives for Dr. Steel, mild mannered by day and superheroes by night. Brendan and Declan: you also take smashing photos.
~ Cassi from Kitty Cat Corsets – Both for your presence and your talent.
~ Madman & Crash Frequency – We love free stuff.
~ Our staff from St Pauls – Gracious and accommodating as always with the onslaught of us freaks into your establishment.

If we’ve forgotten anyone, please remind us and they shall be added to the list.Once again thank you all for making the night what it was despite the rain and so much else going on.
