You know what makes us squee with delight here at PB HQ?

Yes we rabbit on about her amazing and ecclectic accessories all the time, but why wouldn’t we? She’s jolly well fabulous.

The lovely lady is now doing WORKSHOPS! That’s right leetle cogs and gears, Nel  will offer her formidable crafting skills in order to help you customise whatever it is you should bring to the workshop so you can realise your customisation visions.

PB -- Egyptophile

Walk like an Egyptian ...

We do so like an extravaganza in February, it sets a good tone for the year and 2010 is going to be a magnificent year.

With that in mind, Black Productions is proud to bring you: Egyptophile.

There will be mummy unwrappings, Egyptian dancing and a host of other fabulousness to knock your kalasiris off. No re-animating the mummies please, they’re a bother to get back in the sarcophagus.

In addition to the Egyptological extravaganza, Voodoo Lulu Alternative Clothing have been enormously generous and are providing $150 worth of vouchers and a corset to the value of $240 to give away. The excitement is palpable over here at PB HQ.

Expect the usual brand of silliness and some wonderful entertainment from the likes of:

The Viola Cloning Project
Two For Tease
an uber special Mummy Unwrapping

and of course the PB Audio Corps will be there spinning steamy food for the ears.

So don’t walk, run like an Egyptian to our home at Club 320 on Saturday 13th February.

We’ll be pleased as punch to see you there.

– The PB Crew

We’ve finally finished the post processing from the anniversary show. Wow, just, wow. You are all beautiful, talented, wonderous creatures and we are so very proud to host your SteamClub.

To our wonderful patrons: We burble constantly about the effort you all go to but again you’ve raised the bar with your creativity, passion, talent and generally awesome selves. There are few things that give us more contentment than hearing happy laughter, excited questioning over the specifics of a particular costume piece or prop and the equally excited answers from those being questioned. And simply to see everyone enjoying a jolly good party. You’ve created a wonderful community. Thank you.

To our incomparable staff: Adrian, Brendan, Declan, cAt, Shannon, Jon, Charlie, Ellie, Eveeh, Josh, Chris, Prenna, Kerrie and Jen! This year has been full of trials and triumphs. With each situation you’ve risen to the challenge with professionalism, skill and humour. We do not have the words to describe how proud we are of you and to have you in this odd little family that’s sprung up. Thank you.

To Gordon and the 320 Crew: You’ve given us a home and taken care of us. You’ve made our staff and patrons happy and safe. Thank you, you’re all a joy to work with and we’re looking forward to spending indecent amounts of time at 320 in 2010.

To No Standing Cello Quartet: I think all we need to say is that you blew everyone away and that we were proud to be the stage for your first live gig. And what a hell of a debut.

To Opalesque: Rather marvellous is an understatement. Pleased as punch that you graced our stage and from the enthusiastic reaction from the crowd they were as well.

To Red Devotchkin: Red hot indeed. You broke many hearts and gained many fans. Thank you pretty lady, pleasure to have you.

To Elke & Ant of Phoenix Fire Tribe: You glorious, magical beings you. I believe you may have set a precedent for the first “live contact juggling to hard industrial music” show ever. Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing your be-sparkled and talented selves with us.

To John Higgins, David Malki, Feybles.Nel & Von Borg Industries: Thank you so much for your time, talent, humour and glorious wares. We are so happy we could help get knowledge and shiney things out to the populace.

Joolie & Bam: Tea and ears. We love you for it and wouldn’t survive without it.

To anyone we’ve unwittingly neglected to mention: Please accep our apologies. You’re awesome.

Voodoo Lulu Alternative Clothing would also like to extend their heartfelt apologies for having to pull out at the last minute, but have no fear! PB and VL look forward to tantalising your fashion tastebuds in 2010.

So … thank you. An extraordinary 1st Anniversary for an extraordinary event.

Love,

Talisa & Kali

If you’ve not heard of Thread n’ Bone yet, and I say this with all love and sincerity, you’ve been living under a spaciously appointed rock.

As well as stocking her own line (which includes her beautiful couture corsetry), gloriously talented local designer Cyan Reign sources unique designers to offer instore and both herself and those she stocks are far from run of the mill.

From Rock Chic to Steampunk everything in Thread n’ Bone is edgy, bespoke and cool.

Of particular interest to the Brisbane steampunk community should be our beloved Feybles.Nel, Depths of the Never Never, Cynical Silver and How Meow.  Some examples below.

When:        Saturday, 21st November 2009 — 7pm

Where:      Club 320
Basement Entrance
Cnr Boundary & Leichhardt Sts
Spring Hill, QLD

Cost:          $15/$8conc (conc = Student/Pension/HCC/4ZzZ Sub Card Holders, Toy Soldiers, Twist Bitches & Other Club stamped/ticketed individuals)

Ladies and Gentlemen,

May we present Spectacular, Spectacular!, Prometheus Bound’s 1st Anniversary. And what a night we have in store for you.

Club 320 will be transformed into dual rooms of sensory overload featuring the talents of:

No Standing Cello Quartet
Opalesque Bellydance Troupe
Burlesque by Red Devotchkin
Performance art by Elke Pixie
The PB Audio Corps

The icing on the cake? Voodoo Lulu Alternative Clothing struts the boards with a fashion preview of visual magnificence.

Are you reeling? A little hot under those crisp collars and tight-laced corsets? We certainly are. And that isn’t all.

Prometheus Bound plays host to a celebration of Razorjack, the “hard-boiled SF noir”  from the embarrassingly talented John Higgins; better known for his work on Judge Dredd, 2000AD, Hellblazer, The Hills Have Eyes, Batman: The Killing Joke, and Watchmen.

PB will be partying on an international scale, with Com.X holding a sister party in the UK. To celebrate (and possibly tear holes in the fabric of reality), anyone showing up in a Twist Bitch costume gets discounted entry. Want to know more? Download the 22 page teaser here then visit your friendly purveyors of comic-y glory at Ace Comics Brisbane City for the trade collection.

On top of that we are running a raffle. Not your usual pay-some-money-to-possibly-win-something-you-really-don’t-want kind of raffle.

We have Prize packs galore! Full of fantabulous goodies from Wondermark by David Malki (yes THAT Wondermark, the comic strip of Victorian glee), Dr. Steel, Feybles, Von Borg Industries, PB’s own bits and pieces and an assortment of other deliciousness.

Have no fear, for we will still be running our patented brand of audience participatory freebie giveaways. But be warned, the trivia will be harder and we are introducing charades.

Doors shall be opening one hour early, 7pm to be precise, so that we may get through all of the above.

We could not hold out any longer against the tide of awesome and need to tell you all of the joyous happenings, so posters and flyers shall be along shortly and will involve whipping the top hat wearing graphics monkies into working faster.

For now we must depart in search of tea. It will be a pleasure to see you on Saturday, 21st November at Club 320!

You might be wondering why you haven’t heard a whole lot from us about what we’ve been up to lately. Wonder no more! We can now reveal that we have been ensconced deep in our lab, tinkering away at the newest feature on this very website; The Underverse Communication Matrix.

For your enjoyment, a dedicated forum for all things Steampunk South of the Equator. Check it out at http://forum.neoapocalyptica.com.au and enjoy good company and conversation. It went live over the weekend, and the banter is already going at a good clip, so dive in and have fun!

While you’re there, be sure to thank Metzy, Aethervisual Mechanist and main creatrix of the forum, for all her hard work.
